The driver of the vehicle that smashed into Cost Pro Supermarket last Friday was remanded to prison this afternoon.

Brad Samuel was denied bail when he appeared before Magistrate Dexter Wason in traffic court.

He was charged with Dangerous Driving and Malicious Damage following the incident that destroyed that glass doors and walls at the entrance to the supermarket.

The vehicle also barely missed a woman who was exiting the establishment at the time of the crash.

Samuel told police his brakes failed causing the accident.

He is due back in court on September 4 and has the option of applying for bail in the High Court.

  1. Why was he sent to jail when he did not kill anyone? Isn’t the jail already over crowded? Have they determined whether his brakes failed as he said. He should have had his day in court first.

  2. tHIS IS SOME BIG BULL SHIT. THE DUDE DIDNT KILLED OR HIT ANY ONE. YET YOU HAVE PEOPLE IN HIGH PLACES WHO HAVE COMMITTED MORE SERIOUS OFFENSES AND HAVE STILL WALKED FREE. SMDH. THE ONLY THING THAT WOULD HAVE MADE SENSE IS IF HE HAS NO LICENSE OR INSURANCE.

  3. And if he would have hit the woman you would have been singing a diffrent tune. Its about time someone is made an example of for drangerous and reckless driving.

  4. But if his brakes failed y is this guy put in jail for some shit like this and passport scandal people still out free when i say antigua id the most corrupt country in the world only politicians and high ranking police get away with shit

  5. If he in jail all kind of police man and politition should be in jail to !! For crimes bigger than that smh !!

  6. This is so unfair to this young man,yet you give bail to a man who knocked down a guy left him to die and decided to turn himself in 2 days after the accident. What is this country coming to.

  7. Depends on where you live and whether you own a business or not. That is the difference between jail time in ANU.

  8. So because the man said his brakes weren’t working you automatically believe its the gospel truth? Come on even if that was the case it was obvious he had to be speeding to ramp up and then fly through the glass its not rocket science people. Further, people keep moaning how he did not kill anyone. Are you all high? Did you not see that he narrowly missed hitting the woman. If she was hit she would be a dead woman or severely crippled with the speed he was coming through the glass. Unless you all related to the man or friends with him I don’t see why you all defending him so hard a bawl bout “but he nah kill nah body why he should go jail when ….. has done ….. and worst”. Peter pay for Paul and Paul pay for all. Such is life.
