A Jamaican man was remanded to prison while a local co-accused secured bail, following the seizure of cannabis worth $372,000 at Deep-Water Harbour.
Francis Young, who is already facing another legal matter, was denied bail when he appeared before Magistrate Dexter Wason on Monday. He will remain in custody ahead of his next court date.
Meanwhile, Nadeem Brandon Doumith of Crosbies was granted bail set at $300,000, along with a $20,000 surety. His conditions include surrendering his passport and reporting to police three times weekly.
The men were jointly charged after 62 pounds of cannabis were found at the port on 9 May. Allegations include possession, intent to transfer, importation, supply, and conspiracy to traffic cannabis.

Free up di weed
Why is one out and the other remanded? Something doesn’t add up.
So we’re just letting people walk after nearly $400K worth of drugs?
Where there’s money, there’s always someone getting special treatment.
This is why drug crime continues — consequences seem optional.
Who’s securing the borders if this kind of shipment keeps getting through?
Why didn they both get bail?
foolish black man. The syrian have him people fu back him up? Way fu you? Why he didn’t pay your bail too e?
Mek da weed share up evenly, just allow the man dem, mek da weed flow, jump up season soon come.
Dem want fight down the small man dem alone with the weed while the minister boys dem a bring in the coke and the guns, so they say on the streets.
The seizure was made at the port after offloading a shipping container and conducting the necessary screening. You want someone search the containers at sea or the port of origin. Or better yet can you look at a container and indicate if it has contraband inside.
Is this a form of Racial Justice or Class Justice. The Syrian was able to come up with the bail amount. Guess he has the money =. Or his family does. And will the final sentence be a fine or jail time? I wonder? Lets watch this space. Racial Justice from our very own Black Judges and Magistrates.
Every day the lord send it’s nothing but foreigners mashing up the country. We need mass deportations now!
Should RICHARD LEWIS WIFE be included in your call for “mass deportations”????
Good excuse the Blackman has another matter in the court so he is held. Is he held for this matter or the other. You see if it was the other way around they both would be free. It’s one rule of law for we the poor and picky head people and another rule of law for the wealthy / /white people in a black country.
Until we liberate ourselves from mental slavery this will never stop. By the way don’t think that I in support of this black idiot smuggling marijuana into our country. Just saying they both should be at 1735.
It is amazing that all of you are asking the same question. If you all read the article, It is a matter of pending cases. One has matters before the court already, the other does not and he was able to make bail based on what was requested for the bail. Stop trying to read into this.
These Syrians have been at this since the 80s. Nothing new. Imagine how much drugs has been brought into the community by them. The bed you sleep on probably had coke inside at one time.
One was remanded not because of his skin color, because he his a flight risk—a Jamaican national. Another thing, he knew if they got caught, he alone will be remanded. A black man need to start used his brains wisely.
Someone commented that we need a mass deportation. That would never happen. The government depends heavily on the foreign nationals votes in a general elections.
Both should be lock up they were charge jointly based on the said same crime not what happened before . Been born here does not mean you are still not an Allen. .Black lives matters
Black lives matters
Can’t respect and abide by our laws ,,, FORCIBLY ,, PERMANENTLY sent back where they came from after conviction
Why so much argument. If you realize the Black Dude is from Jamaica and the White Dude is Antiguan, he born here.. Why is too much noise if you skin color is X type but born here you have no right here? To be Antiguan if you born with White skin you are not allowed to be an Antigua citizen? I cant believe what I’m reading. Mass deportations? of Who? People still have this weirdo mentality today that if you can’t accomplish something in life you gonna blame “The slavery”. Come on. nobody see the thousand of black dudes on the street of Antigua with low pants showing their boxers? That is why? Slavery? they are failing to themselves, and at the same time they are blaming white people and the government for their failure
