Skerrit urged all governments to contribute to the rescue effort with a solid strategic plan, responsible management, an executive president, and a board to ensure regional interconnectivity.

Stressing the importance of government involvement in sustaining Caribbean airlines, he stated the need for USD20 million to launch Liat 2020 Ltd. The Antiguan government allocated XCD30 million to support the new LIAT.

Shareholders, including Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Barbados, and St. Vincent and the Grenadines, are working with regional governments and the Caribbean Development Bank to finalize agreements and enable LIAT 2020 to commence operations, potentially involving Air Peace.

  1. Dominica has to be feeling the inconvenience of not having Liat, considering the number of liat flights that landed in Dominica every day. Which other airline is going to service the smaller Caribbean islands or even connect to the larger islands on a daily basics. Gaston is to be commended for trying to keep Liat in the skies, but it can’t be business as usual. The new airline has to be operated as a business free from government interference.

    • Hopefully you’ll wake-up from this dream ok .yes the Caribbean needs a airline but it ain’t going happen base in Antigua and that’s the simple truth of the matter those islands that would invest not doing it with browne boy.

  2. It’s not any surprise that he would want to invest in LIAT,remember that they are crime partners. They both conspired to kidnap Mehul Choksi. How much were they promised by the Indian Government?
