Prime minister Roosevelt Skerrit has sent best wishes to US president Donald Trump and his wife Melania after they tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19) last week.

In a statement, Skerrit said the people of Dominica are praying for the first couple’s recovery.

“We hold them in our hearts and prayers,” Skerrit stated.

“I want to also send best wishes to the Members of Congress and the members of the president’s inner team who also in recent days have been afflicted by the virus.”

The prime minister said this news should remind everyone that we are vulnerable to be infected with the virus and should remain vigilant and have discipline.

    • Don’t you know that the bible teaches you to pray for your enemies.
43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. 46 For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? 47 And if you greet only your brothers,[a] what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same? 48 You therefore must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

  1. Yes, we pray for their recovery, but we are reminded again that we reap what we sow. Soon the election will come and Trump will be retired. He’ll have lots of time to reflect on his life.

  2. Antiguans island wide also send warmth and well wishes from the shores of out 365 beaches !
