Police Commissioner Atlee Rodney says the incident at Devil’s Bridge, where 37-year-old Mohini Misra and her five-year-old son, Shray, lost their lives was accidental.
Many persons asked wether foul play could have been a possible cause.
Following an investigation that considered eyewitness accounts, Rodney declared the deaths as accidental.
The family, visiting Antigua before returning to Canada, had come to capture photos.
Reports indicate that a wave struck the boy, causing both mother and son to fall into the water.
Despite the father’s efforts, Satwik Misra, to save them, he lost his grip, and his attempts to rescue them were unsuccessful.

Though I have no reasons to believe that this unfortunate event at Devils Bridge was nothing but an accident, I question the veracity and diligence of the investigation that might have lead to this conclusion.
BENEFIT OF DOUBT: …COMISH MIS-SPOKE: …RATIONALIZED COMMENT
Darn Nice language: ‘…Veracity and Diligence.’
Giving the ‘Commissioner’ the ‘…Benefit of Doubt,’ it seems that the ‘…Comish Misspoke.’
Professionally and authoritatively:
(i) ‘…No Commissioner of Police,’ shall give a ‘RULING’ on any ‘Deaths’ within this or any
other Jurisdiction;
(ii) …No Commissioner is: (a) ‘…A Coroner: or (b) …A Coroner’s Jury.’
That which a ‘Commissioner’ shall know or reckless not to know is that ‘DEATHS’ that are
Not due to ‘NATURAL CAUSES; (heart-attack etc.), require the holding of ‘CORONER’S INQUESTS’ to ascertain the ‘…CIRCUMSTANCES OF DEATH.’
Thus, when the ‘Pathologists’ guide the understanding as to that which a persons died of, the
INQUEST’ shall show the ‘…CIRCUMSTANCES’ that brought about death.
RULINGS VERDICTS MAY EITHER BE:
(a) ‘….Murder; or
(b) …Manslaughter; or
(c) …Infanticide; or
(d) …MISADVENTURE: This was where a person took risk to do something ‘ADVENTUROUS-
lawful or unlawful, an he/she ‘DIES.’
Neither ‘…Commissioner Audley Phillip,’ nor ‘…Commissioner Atlee Rodney QPM- Queen’s Police Medal,’ could make such ‘RULINGS.’
We know that wasn’t an accident. That man came where he knew he would get TF away with MURDER..
I think Pompey should apologize publicly on ANR for continuously speculating that this was not an accident but was an act of the husband. The right thing to do.
nobody gonna killed there wife an son an then dive in devil bridge after an not knowing the danger of the water.
I won’t judge this man like everyone else an condemn him
What about the man that was shot by the “Cop” and then was thrown in the back of the pick-up like a peace of garbage?
What about that investigation Mr Rodney, and the countless other unsolved murders in this tiny island?
Inquiring minds would love to know.
Smdh.
Oh please !!! ANTIGUA POLICE CANT SOLVE SHIT!!!!
Anything the police said on this matter they would be criticized.
I have no first hand info, unlike some commentators here who apparently saw the whole thing, but I will accept the police findings. However there probably should have also been a charge of negligence.
