This whole matter is laughable. Let them the hotelier build and then go and break it down. That is what you people do to the locals.
This “developer/s” have taken up wayyyyyyyy too much of the area where picnickers normally set down their belongings on shore. The previous restaurant did NOT violate the required distance from the shoreline.
It is ridiculous how much they want to EXTEND the new restaurant. A clear VIOLATION of rules.
It’s good that you did the right thing and clarified the false report you made in the first place about someone else building.
That is what good journalism is all about. You made an error then you go and make the corrections.
Which is more badly placed- Short Shirt beach bar on Halcyon Beach or this restaurant on long bay ? What about those on dark wood beach and the restaurants at Jolly beach / tranquillity bay in Jolly Harbour. DCA please use the laws properly if you may but use it all the time for everyone. Not for locals or the black picky head and the rich white can do as they please. I will now keep you posted when I see buildings being built this distance to the shoreline. Same thing if there was an existing building and they go bigger I will give you a shout. JUST BE FAIR !
