Department of Environment and Development Control Authority Invites Comments on Draft Revised Antigua and Barbuda Building Code

The Department of Environment (DOE) in collaboration with the Development Control Authority (DCA) is inviting the public to make comments on the Draft Antigua and Barbuda Building Code. This building code was adapted from the Revised OECS building code (2016) and has already been through the first round of edits with a number of relevant government departments, academia, technical agencies and associations, who have all provided important feedback in preparing this Draft Building Code.

We are now asking the public to send in any comments, concerns or feedback on the Draft Antigua and Barbuda Building Code. This can be done through accessing the following link – https://environment.gov.ag/news-events#news/article/95) and filling out the comment form. Interested individuals can also obtain a hard copy of the Draft Building Code and comment sheet at the DOE headquarters at Victoria Park, St. John’s or at the DCA headquarters at the Transport Board Building, Herberts Main Road.

Deadline for receipt of comments is December 11, 2020.

  1. Is there anything being done about the destruction of the fragile marine area and mangroves that Yida and company continue to do by Guiana Island and the surrounding area?

    Why hasn’t DCA, DOE, Fisheries and of course Gaston all quiet about this? Is Antigua being sold out by the MP’s in power?
