Chief of Staff Lionel Max Hurst has sought to justify the recent actions taken by the Development Control Authority (DCA) regarding billboards.

Hurst’s statements come in response to the DCA’s removal of billboards deemed to be harmful or slanderous.

He was responding to reporters’ questions at the Cabinet news conference on Friday.

  1. How can the TRUTH be considered slander or libel? When the truth is written or spoken it not an opinion it is a FACT. What kind of country is Antigua becoming if people can’t speak or write the truth? Nothing on that billboard was false; even if it’s ‘hurtful,’ that doesn’t make make it slanderous or libelous.

  2. This lying old fool again? Is he the best ALP can do? If they feed Max sh!++, he will tell the public its fruit cake with a straight face.
Gaston Browne must be uneasy to send this clown with no credibility to do damage control. Brian Stewart Young and the DAWG go way back and no doubt share secrets. Saab Moran sang like a canary to save his neck. Will Brian Stewart Young remain silent if faced with jail time? Folks, the plot thickens. It’s just a matter of time.
Of course there’s nothing liebus about the billboard and DCA has no legal right to decide whether or not contents are, but Max Wurst is a man without a conscience.

  3. The ABLP acting like absolute desperado’s regarding the removal of the opposition billboards.

I must admit that I’m loving the fact that the ABLP are squirming and still trying to defend the indefensible.

Even though ‘1st Choice’ have now run out of my favourite popcorn🍿, at least I can sit back and enjoy some bullfoot soup, whilst this government goes from BAD to WORSE, and UNTENABLE!

Has anyone else noticed the amount of time the ABLP are spending on this ridiculous matter, rather than focusing on the high crime rates in the country, and the high cost of living crisis.
