DEAN: The donkey leader has no right to lead after the kick he got from someone like Shugy

Hon. Dean Jonas

Dean Jonas: The donkey leader has no right to lead after the kick he got from someone like shugy!! The donkey leader lost to Shugy even though he had everything in his favor.

How can the donkey leader let shugy beat him when he had all the money, state power, and state resources?

“I am sorry, but he is not worth his salt”!!!

How can the donkey leader stay in his position when he has failed so miserably?

He should do the right thing and stand down.

REAL NEWS: Two social-media posts by former Cabinet minister Dean Jonas have
residents wondering whether a war is brewing between him and
Prime Minister Gaston Browne.

In one post, Jonas refers to a “donkey leader,” which he defines
as “an incompetent and greedy leader who can only command a
group of sycophant(s) and yes-men.”

According to the post, “This leader is stubborn, selfish, and ignorant
of the needs and opinions of others.” Further, Jonas opines, such
persons care only about their own interests and benefits, as they
seek to exploit followers for their own gain.

He adds that these leaders “are unable to inspire, motivate, or
empower anyone, and they resort to bullying, cutthroat attacks,
threats, lies, and manipulation to maintain their authority.”

The post ends with Jonas saying these leaders are the worst kind
and should be exposed and removed from leadership.

It is widely believed that the criticism was a response to the prime
minister’s assertion that Jonas would have no place on the Antigua
Labour Party ticket come the next General Election, since he had lost
his seat to Algernon “Serpent” Watts, the United Progressive Party
candidate, in January 2023.

Accordingly, Browne said he is looking for new blood to contest the
St. George seat.

In a second post that made the social-media rounds today, October
30, Jonas made a more obvious dig at PM Browne, saying “the
donkey leader has no right to lead after the kick he got from
someone like [Kelvin Shugy Simon].”

The post notes that the donkey lost even though he had every
advantage – money, State resources, and State power – in hand.

Therefore, it concludes the leader “is not worth his salt;” and it calls
on the failed leader to “do the right thing and stand down.”
Another former Labour Party MP, Asot Michael, made similar
accusations and came to the same conclusion during a Big Issues
outing on Sunday, October 29.

Michael accused PM Browne of “[abusing] his position in
government with record election-campaign spending from the
public purse to influence votes … and he was decisively defeated.”
The by-election outcome, says Michael – the current independent
representative for St. Peter – proved that the people are not afraid to
claim their power and face down aspiring dictators.

Prior to Jonas’ social-media affront, former MP Samantha Marshall –
who was summarily removed from the by-election contest in St.
Mary’s South – made a post about “immature leaders” that was also
believed to be directed at the prime minister.

However, after it caught the public’s attention – and apparently was
answered by Browne – Marshall quickly sought to do damage
control, stating that the post was not necessarily relevant to her
situation.

Meanwhile, speculation is rife that there is dissention within the
ranks of the Labour Party, with members privately grumbling
against Browne’s autocratic leadership while putting on a public
show of unity.

  1. Me na even badda read Judas comments, in the first place he should have never run on ABLP ticket. U Dean meck a serpent dash u out a one tree. The ppl of St. George rejected you and now u Judah a chat. Judah remember wha you do wilmouth when UPP get in a power. Judah siddung you last your way and a pure disgrace

  2. The last time I checked Dean Jonas is still a member of the ABLP and as such he represents all the ABLP supporters in the constituency. The ABLP lost that seat in the last general election. The ABLP has a constancy office in that constituency. As a member of the party the Honourable Gaston Browne is the leader of the party and Prime Minister of our country. If he is frustrated and displeased or disgruntled he should raise that matter first in the party. We as a people must first operate within a democratic construct and our leaders must lead by setting an example for us to follow. Courtesy and decency to our fellow man must always be our mantra.

  3. Gaston is Narcissistic pure and simple!! Rather than seeing it as a failure on his part… it is everyone else.. He is not reading the room correctly at all..
The best Politician in the world could have been on that ticket in SMS. They would have lost because of Gaston Browne. Sad to say, ABLP will have to break up again and rebuild because he no get the hint yet.
Samantha don’t throw in the towel yet. You still young!!! The next leader will take you if you are not that leader yourself..

  4. gaston clown I hope now u realize that the majority of the voting population of Antigua don’t want u to lead this country anymore, please do the rite thing and step down, you’re the worst prime minister this country has ever had , you’re a disgrace to your people, please put Antigua in capable hands .

  5. It certainly feels as if the majority of the country has had enough of gaston.

Sadly, I suspect the country is such a bad state, economically, that there will be some years of pain coming.

I hope the electorate will remember that it was the labour party that wreck this country and it will take time and hard decisions to bring it back even and then push forward.

I too will feel the pain, but I am glad I did not vote for the labour party. If I did, I would be seriously considering cutting off my index finger that I pushed in the ink election 2023.

  6. I guess if that is true what Dean wrote than he has committed political suicide in the ABLP. Just like Asot Michael. You can never attack the leader if you are part of a group. Unless you are prepared for a leadership fight. Well if Dean is really interested in politics he can join Joan’s DNA. And perhaps others that don’t like the leader can do the same. It will make politics in Antigua very interesting. Note their are only 17 places in each party for persons to run for office. The rest have to be satisfied with sideline jobs. We cannot all be runners. I recall when Darvin Joseph wanted to run in All Saits West and the PM told him to step down cause he was not polling good. And Michael Brown took the spot and won his seat. But Darvin is now working as Ambassador out of the PM’s office. Responsible for the Nigerian connection.

    • Surely not the Ambassador who some Nigerians claim requested and accepted bribes for them to settle in Antigua and were then refused entry by immigration? If their claims are correct it shows what a political sinkhole (or stinkhole) Antigua has become. The pathetic denial of the claim by the Ambassador doesn’t make me feel any easier. Fish rots from the head.

        • @From The Sidelines…‘rumours dem spreading, claim say a #sensi, me planting, but I man a de Dan innah yah juggling, so, annah none #RUMOURS de Guarneri…”

          #HOLD_TIGHT!
          #JUST_A_MINUTE!
          #REWIND!

Cold Cases without statute of limitations, never stay COLD forever.
There’s no doubt, that crimes have being committed by some of those in the purported upper echelon of the State(IHI to Odebrecht to Antigua Airways).
They got Leroy “come to your Papa” King.
          They got R.A. Stanford!

          We know there is #MOTIVE!
          We know there are #WITNESSES!
          We know there are #EVIDENCES!
          We know there are #FORENSICS!

We just need INVESTIGATORS to dust off some of these #COLD_CASE files, look at everything through fresh lenses, use updated tools to analyse the evidences, get the disgruntled witnesses, those who wants to repent for their sins to come forward, and voila #TIME has caught up to the shenanigans, COLD_CASES are no longer cold and JUSTICE is finally served.

Then “rumours” become the truth and it won’t be, #stranger_than_fiction!

  8. I have wanted to do business in Antigua and Barbuda that literally was designated as of national importance and substantial merit, asked ABLP leaders for basic assistance like please have them expedite the application or decide the matter on the merit, all the arrogant, uncaring, selfish, folks ignore my request or push me to another.

I can promise you this, and I am confident, the politicians DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU. You ignorant fools need to comprehend this. You are just a vote, you are not a human. You are just a supporter of THEM.

I NO LONGER FEEL SORRY FOR LOCAL ANTIGUANS.

  9. Wow 😳😳 wow wow wow wow Looking into the future Prime Minister Gaston Brown what I saw it is not good for you and the state of Antigua and Barbuda First thing came to mind is the oderbretch scandal the bribe remember Casroy James is still waiting for his day in Court Mr Brown my question who are they waiting on to prosecute it cannot be Harold Lovell the proceeding would have been completed Secondly Choski that Case is Ringing in my ear it’s so complicated so many Public Figures let us look at the offences Torturing, kidnapping and Human Trafficking the implecating of another State Remember calling on Domonica not to send Choski back to Antigua and the Indian Government to send a plane I am convinced that you have a Head Of A Jack Ass

  10. A people who are buried in injustice or discrimination, finds it hard to see the big picture. Small improvements are expected and welcome. When people begin to imagine full emancipation and accountability, do they perceive the full extent of their submission, and they get angrier.

  11. Wasn’t Dean Jonas a member of the UPP and Wilmouth Daniels campaign manager?
Switching parties is not unusual. Danold Trump was once a Democrat.
Better to have your enemies inside the tent pissing out, than outside the tent pissing in. By the old sage Lyndon B. Johnson.
My advice to Dean Jonas, time to crank up “Taking Sides” again.
