Dean Fenton delivers another stirring collection of deeply thoughtful, reflective and eye-opening verses in another gift to the literary industry that comes with the release of his latest book, My Time at the Door.
It’s his second book, coming after the release of his first, Waltzing in the Breeze, less than a year ago.
His new book of poetry is deeply explorative as it seeks to unravel the meaning of life from a personal perspective and examines intimate and meaningful moments in the journeyed experiences of the author.
My Time at the Door dives into the open ocean of human and romantic relationships, dares to discuss the complexities of human character and challenges the human condition in its various roles.
“Writing for me is more than an escape. It is a conversation with self that helps me to understand the mysterious complexities of life and therefore helps me get through daily challenges that life hurls at you while surviving a tough world,” Fenton explained.
“I’m just happy that I can share with everyone my observations, ideas, thoughts and perspectives that God has helped me to shape creatively into words. I hope and trust everyone can enjoy,” he continued.
Fenton is grateful for the journey that he has travelled from humble Antiguan roots where family has supported his dreams and aspirations to make something meaningful of his life.
This has kept him grounded and many of his heartfelt sentiments bring to life his appreciation of family, friendships and professional relationships that continue to colour his sojourn.
Fenton is currently the New York Director of Tourism for his country Antigua and Barbuda and pursues his love and drive for destination marketing with equal passion as his writing.
“Once the time allows,” he smiles.
The balance seems to be working as he has been able to skilfully benefit his professional life and the literary world with exceptional results.
Fenton’s My Time at the Door is available for download on Amazon and in paperback.
