Deadline Passes for Political Parties’ Audited Campaign Finance Records

3

The deadline for political parties to submit audited campaign finance records, six months after the January 18 general election, has officially passed.

As per the Representation of the People Act 2001, Section 38, parties must record all contributions exceeding $25,000 and undergo auditing within six months of an election they contested. Failure to comply could result in fines.

ABEC Chairman, John Jarvis, revealed that the matter has been discussed at the executive level, with potential announcements forthcoming.

Once the Electoral Commission receives the audited records, they will be reviewed by Parliament and made public.

The election saw significant spending by major parties, including UPP, ABLP, and DNA, on various campaign activities.

  1. Please,I beg of all Political Parties.Release those damn audited reports for all to see your financial backers and their $$$$ given.Once they are given to you the Electoral Commission. If you are then satisfied with those Audited Reports.Release them to the Public at Large, not to no DAMN PARLIAMENT.FOR THEY IN MY OPINION WOULD COVER UP THINGS UNDER A CLOAK.ONCE AUDITED,RELEASE TO THE PEOPLE.
