This comes as his opponent, UPP candidate for the area Gladys Potter has been seen and heard in a video in what some have labeled as frantic shouting and screaming.
As a response, Matthew the successful candidate in the last General Elections has reassured his constituents in the statement below taken directly from his Facebook page.
I will continue to represent the Constituency of St. John’s Rural South with dignity and pride.
The community center that I built and established, continues to provide access to education for all of our residents, both the young, and the young at heart, and has been doing so for the past 2 years.

DARYLL MATTHEW undertook the initiative and investment to construct a modern COMMUNITY CENTER that provides opportunities for education and employment development within the community. By being located within the constituency, persons would have easier access to these opportunities without having to travel to St. John’s, Coolidge or wherever these courses are being held.

The COVID-19 Pandemic caused many to lose their jobs and left without income. For this reason, the HON. DARYLL MATTHEW and his team provided thousands of HOT MEALS and FOOD PACKAGES through our food distribution programme to the constituents of Rural South. Representation is continuous and NOT seasonal 🙏
MP Matthew always created opportunities for youth development. Whether it is education, sports, or leisure activities, he will continue to support our youths to ensure their lives are impacted positively. (SUMMER CAMPS, TOURS, SPONSOR CHEERLEADERS, YOUTH FOOTBALL TEAMS, MISS RURAL SOUTH QUEEN CONTESTANTS)
In 2019 HON. DARYLL MATTHEW started a constituency scholarship program where he awarded and funded up to 10 full and partial SCHOLARSHIPS for students to the Antigua State College.
He also instituted UWI Open Campus’s Short Courses in collaboration with the Rural South Community Development Center. These short courses offer persons an opportunity for lifelong learning. By completing the courses, these students gained CPE Credits (Continuing Professional Education) which can count towards future certification programmes.
He CONSISTENTLY supported SMALL BUSINESSES in his constituency whether via BUYING LUCH AT COOKSHOPS, BUYING FRESH FISH, PAYING TO HAVE HIS VEHICLE WASHED etc etc

@SMH:Is selling of Ice Cream a crime in Antigua? I grew up in Antigua. Back then many persons made a very good living selling Ice Cream and from a tray. Just remember this,no work is degrading.
