Comptroller of Customs Raju Boddu hopes the Maritime Single Window system will boost efficiency at the Deep-Water Harbour.

He explained that this system allows electronic submission of all required information via a single portal.

The department seeks investor funding for its implementation.

Boddu plans to discuss funding at the World Customs Organization meeting, with potential collaboration from a Korean government entity. He noted benefits and challenges of the ASYCUDA automated system, particularly with online payments.

Emphasizing internal modernization efforts, Boddu highlighted the need for increased patrols in territorial waters and the establishment of a dedicated canine unit to better manage crime. Efforts to secure funding for four to six dogs are ongoing.
