Curtis Cornelius, Antigua’s Chevening Scholar, Pledges Focus on Prisoner Rehabilitation

Antigua’s 2023 Chevening scholarship recipient, Curtis Cornelius, is committed to transforming prisoner rehabilitation upon completing his studies.

Among the recently announced 15 awardees for Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean, Cornelius, a Crown Counsel attached to the Ministry of Legal Affairs, will pursue a Master of Science Degree in Criminology at the University of Leicester.

He aims to prioritize offender rehabilitation in the criminal justice system.

Cornelius envisions correctional facilities becoming centers of genuine transformation, steering convicts away from re-offending.

As part of the UK government’s prestigious international scholarships program, he joins a remarkable lineage of scholars working to shape a better world.
