Cultivation Technology Program Celebrates 75 New Graduates in Antigua and Barbuda

Seventy-five participants graduate from the month-long Cultivation Technology Training Program, gaining skills to enhance food security and agricultural practices in Antigua and Barbuda.

Seventy-five graduates from the Cultivation Technology Training Program celebrated their success on Thursday.

The month-long course, sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China and led by Juan Longping High-Tech Agriculture Company, focused on hybrid pepper breeding, seed production, and cultivation techniques.

During the graduation ceremony at the Villa Community Center, H.E. Zhang Yanling, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Antigua and Barbuda, praised the dedication of both governments in making the program a reality. She expressed her delight at the enthusiasm for agriculture among local participants.

“I’ve been following this program closely and am thrilled by the passion for agriculture here,” she said, congratulating the graduates.

Walter Christopher, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and the Blue Economy, highlighted the importance of the program to Antigua and Barbuda’s food security efforts. He urged participants to carry forward the message of food security and nutrition.

The ceremony was also attended by Governor General H.E. Sir Rodney Williams and Lady Williams.
