Cruise Ship Calls Hit Record High in Antigua with 410 Visits This Season
Antigua and Barbuda’s cruise sector has hit a new milestone, with officials confirming a record 410 cruise ship calls for the 2024–2025 season.
The figures were revealed during Monday’s Cruise Connect forum at the Treasury Building, where tourism and port officials gathered to discuss the booming industry.
January alone saw 98 calls—the highest monthly total ever recorded.
Tourism Minister Charles Fernandez, along with immigration, law enforcement, and other key stakeholders, joined the discussion as plans were laid out to enhance visitor experience and capture more economic benefits ahead of the 2025–2026 season.
Meanwhile, cruise calls to Barbuda are also on the rise, with the number expected to surpass last season’s total of 18, marking a significant step forward for the sister island’s tourism development.

There is no profit, at least not for the next 20-30yrs, because all the money is going back to pay the loans and the investors (China) who is making all the money.
Same as the Air Peace deal with Lait2020. Antigua would not see one dime from those deals, because Gatson Browne doesn’t have a clue about negotiating.
That’s why he was going after the Alpha Nero for the free meal, and also raising taxes every chance he gets, because this Government is in debt up to their eyeballs.
You should also remember for a while they were just charging fines in court instead of sending people to jail, because they are so broke that they had to get money some how. That’s why workers are not getting paid and they had to take out another loan to fix the roads.
And now that this same Alpha case is going to cost the tax payers millions, y’all better suck salt for a while under this government.
Gatson and his familyy pockets are full, so he doesn’t give a damn about y’all poor peasants.
Sorry, but that’s the hard truth..it’s time for Antiguan’s to face it. Call a spade a spade. This man has no clue about governing.
