(Dashboard Update for August 20, 2021)
The most recent report received by the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment from the Sir Lester Bird Mount St. John Medical Centre has revealed twenty-six (26) new laboratory confirmed COVID-19 cases in Antigua and Barbuda as of Tuesday 17th August 2021 at 6pm.
Twenty-two (22) cases are non-imported, three (3) imported and one (1) unknown.
One hundred and forty-two (142) samples that were processed at Sir Lester Bird MSJMC.
Meanwhile of the (24) cases reported on the previous dashboard, eleven (11) were non-imported, two (2) imported and eleven (11) unknown.
Eight (8) recovered cases were recorded increasing the total to one thousand two hundred and eighty-five (1285).
Consequently, the total number of persons with laboratory confirmed COVID-19 cases in Antigua and Barbuda is one thousand four hundred and forty-seven (1447); which is inclusive of one hundred and nineteen (119) active cases.
There are thirteen (13) hospitalized cases; nine (9) mild, two (2) moderate and two (2) severe.
Meanwhile, Antigua and Barbuda has fully vaccinated thirty two thousand three hundred and seventy (32,370) individuals while six thousand eight hundred and sixty (6,860) have only received their first dose.
The dashboard has been updated to reflect these changes.

So the remainder 106 who are not hospitalized, what category would they be placed under? Is this saying that the majority of persons who gets this virus is OK enough to be at home? I am by no means saying that those who fit under a particular category isn’t very ill but looking at the statistics presented, I am just wondering…

The cases are climbing slowly but surely…. Instead of criticizing if u do not believe in taking the vaccine, why not offer a positive suggestion as to how to prevent the infections from escalating….. United we stand & divided we fall……Its all about nation building if u really love this country
109 active cases + 26 new cases=135 cases – 8 recovery =127 active cases. Am I reading something wrong?
