All inmates confirmed to have contracted COVID-19 have now been transferred to the
newly retrofitted Crabbs facility.

The first group of 16 inmates was transferred from Her Majesty’s Prison to the medical quarantine facility at the Crabbs training area on Monday.

The remaining inmates were transferred on Tuesday.

The Crabbs Medical Quarantine Facility at the Defence Force training site is prepared to house 50 people.

Meanwhile, Attorney General Steadroy Benjamin says dozens of pending results for inmates at Her Majesty’s Prison regarding COVID tests carried out more than two weeks ago are now null and void – and he has been advised by health officials to have them all redone as too much time has elapsed.
