14

The most recent reports received by the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment from the Mount St. John’s Medical Center (MSJMC) and the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA) have revealed three new laboratory confirmed COVID-19 cases in Antigua and Barbuda as of Sunday 24th January 2021.

All sixty-five samples processed by MSJMC yielded negative results and are reflected in the total samples taken and total persons tested columns of the dashboard.

Of the forty samples processed by CARPHA, thirty-seven were negative and three positive. The three positive cases are non-imported.

Meanwhile, seven new recoveries have been recorded bringing that total to one hundred and seventy.

Consequently, the total number of persons with laboratory confirmed COVID-19 cases in Antigua and Barbuda is two hundred and one (201); which is inclusive of twenty-five (25) active cases.

The dashboard has been updated to reflect these changes.

  1. Eye roll! STRICTER RESTRICTIONS COMING as per Sir Health via Minister of Information press conference last week “if we show a week of consecutive days with 3 or more cases” & you telling me they didn’t know these miraculous consecutive days of 3 cases were coming?!

Mixture of minority of Antiguans not observing protocols and putting the rest of us into possible lockdown or strict measures, so darn selfish
& Govt allowing tourists to behave as if it’s 2019, to heck with the health of the citizens of this country and future stricter measures, so darn disrespectful.

22 Jan update 3 new cases
    23 Jan 3 new cases
    24 Jan 3 new cases
Any guesses what numbers will be reported for 25,26,27,28 January?

    • looks like it only coming in three’s(“omne trium perfectum’) out of a population 97.000 and this is januray 25th and the goverment only tested 8.588 is not good enough.

      • Poor you, how many people has Japan tested? Its test per million is less than ANU. It has been heralded globally as doing a great job. While these places you guys laud like SVN and BDS, SLU, covid seems out of control. SLU is basically on lockdown. Only essential items can be purchased. BDS nomad program is now in jeopardy. All because they pushed a policy of tests can prevent covid. In the meantime their citizens partied without masks or social distancing. Sir Molwyn and his team (especially the CMO) deserve kudos . Brethren ingratitude is worse than witchcraft

        • There is no Covid-19 in Antigua. It is called Covid-20 in Antigua.Being blamed for the Bankruptcy of the Nation.Nine-man and Sidelines have the answers to all things Labor Party. Why not use your services and help Antigua and Barbuda.Stop kissing the behinds of Politicians.

  2. Tell it like it is ,that’s the problem ,testing . Barbados already done over one hundred thousand test . If they find a case in Barbados from a business place, all the workers plus close contacts are been tested . They were two cases in the prison by two guards and they tested all the workers plus inmates,do far they have discovered 358 cases . 257 inmates and 101 workers .

    • How that working for them? Almost 750 actives cases as of today. Of those tests how much of it was of its local population? BDS yet another country (like Trump personally) that wrongly thought testing can stop you from getting covid. Meantime the population partying without masks / social distancing. A&B lis in good company, since it has a policy similar to Japan when it comes to testing to protocols

      • Nope, Antigua is not like Japan.

ALL people who enter Japan are tested at the airport and quarantined 14 days.

Antigua just lets in diseased folks and they can go wherever they choose (so long as they are not nationals)

        • Not true for all(Japan also makes exceptions: “Those traveling under Japan’s revised business travel rules will need to provide proof of a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours of departure, signed and stamped by the laboratory where it was taken. While they will not need to self-isolate, they will need to provide details of their movements for the following two weeks and not use public transport.” see Travel to Japan during Covid-19: What you need to know before you go

  3. Oh no Antigua going to lockdown maybe now the covidiots mosqutioes will be happy meanwhile hard working people will be wondering where their next meal will come from nevermknd to all of their other obligations!!! Yay media keep up the good work of driving fear into people!!!

  4. Perhaps the English Harbour/ Falmouth white folks/ yachties can help the poor. They say they love Antigua. Why don’t they help? I am sure they will be flying to the US or UK for the free vaccine soon. Selfish people.

    • They’ll just bring disease to your country with the blessing of your 🤡 PM and then they’ll leave when b things get difficult

  5. “No covid here!” they try to fool the people in the beginning, then every time 1 recover there is 1 new case for the past 32 weeks. Now in the 42nd week it is 3 new cases continuously . “We must learn to live with covid ” let in everybody from high risk countries without proper sceening, blame the locals for the mismanagement set measure in place . Mask is not necessary they told us to prevent people from getting infected because they didnt want us to buy up all the mask and none was available for health care worker. lies in the beginning and lies in the end and We wonder why people are reluctant at times to listen when it started with lies

    • You’ve been paying attention

They have been lying there entire time

Now there’s probably thousands of covid cases here but the clown government is still manipulating numbers
