The most recent reports received by the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment from the Mount St. John’s Medical Center has revealed no new laboratory confirmed COVID-19 case in Antigua and Barbuda as of Tuesday 18th August, 2020 at 6pm.

Subsequent to the publication of the dashboard on Tuesday 18th August 2020 with the cut off time of 6pm, twenty-five samples were processed at the Mount St. John’s Medical Center’s (MSJMC) Laboratory which increased the pending results from zero to twenty-five.

All twenty-five samples yielded negative results and are reflected in the total samples taken and total tested columns of the dashboard.

Consequently, the total number of persons with laboratory confirmed COVID-19 cases in Antigua and Barbuda remains ninety-four with three active cases.

Meanwhile, fifteen samples were sent to the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA) earlier today.

The dashboard has been updated to reflect these changes.

  1. I’m starting not to believe them. The above information says no new cases but the cases increased by one from 93 to 94. Help me if i’m overlooking something.

    • Boss the case increased by one since earlier yesterday’s published dashboard see article “One New Case Of Covid-19, Aug 19th” . Those results were as of the end of the 17th. It was an imported case This article provides results as of the 18th. . Try and keep up

  2. There is no way that countries like Barbados, Trinidad and the Bahamas with stricter rules for tourist and alot more testing in place can see more cases but somehow we still havent even hit 100?

There is no way these numbers are correct and i really see a huge breakout happening and our pathetic health care system will not be able to cope.

    • Both countries are larger than A&B, and also have more visitors. Have to be a lunatic who would think that TNT with 1.39 million people covid #’s should be inline with A&B. Try not to spread your illness

    • So would you be happy if we had 10, 000 cases and mount st john over burden? Will that sastify your negative energy?

      • I dont think its negative energy but rather the fact that these numbers dont make sense. You’re naive if you think that makes sense.

Additionally, yes trinidad and barbados have much larger populations but their rules are so much more strict. You clearly dont follow the news. 1 individual in Trinidad has infected almost 200 people but yet we have no community spread.
        STFU.

        • St. Lucia, SVN have more people than us, yet no known community spread. Dominica about 30K less persons, no community spread. Why? Probably because we are islands, sunlight, less places with central AC, we locked down early, persons in general have been following the protocols here and there is legation to enforce it. TNT is just now going to parliament to get legislation to enforce the wearing of masks (proving you are speaking out of ignorance):

“PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad (CMC)— The Trinidad and Tobago government Saturday announced a series of new measures aimed at curbing the spread of the coronavirus, which in recent days had pushed the island into the category of “community spread”, warning also that it is examining the possibility of introducing legislation that would allow for persons not wearing masks to be fined. see Trinidad introduces new measures as COVID-19 cases spike
          Saturday, August 15, 2020”

        • @DoingWell maybe you should STFU and go do your research if covid cases were to explode it would have happened. We have been open since June and yet the hospital is not over burden. Trinidad just had an election where people were not only in large crowds but also no mask wearing no social or physcial distancing. Trinidad is now passing lwas for mandatoury mask. What is clear is people like you DoingWell are upset that despite all your doom and gloom perdictions Antigua is not being over run with covid cases at the moment.

  3. Just tells you of the vermin we have living among us. They seem so depressed because Antigua’s covid-19 infection rates are under control. Can’t get any more treacherous than that!

    • Brethen its called “the Chicken Little Syndrome”. Reminds of that lady in the bible who requested that King Solomon cut the baby in half
