The OECS Court of Appeal has ordered the immediate release of Timothy Jackman, who was convicted in 2020 for the manslaughter of his transgender partner, Angel Joseph, in 2018.
Jackman, initially sentenced to 11 years and nine months, successfully appealed after his attorney, Wendel Alexander, argued that the sentencing judge made a “mathematical error” in calculating his term.
He was briefly freed in July last year but was rearrested after prison authorities claimed his release was premature.

Truth and Justice
Hope this decision was based on solid legal grounds and not just technicalities.
If he was wrongfully held, will there be accountability for the time he lost?
Another controversial case… SMH —hope the public gets more clarity on why he was released.
If he was innocent, then this was the right move. If not, what went wrong in the case?
The legal system must be consistent—will other similar cases be reviewed with the same urgency?
