I know it was a tough road but you were able to rise above it all.
The road of your new career is going to be a rough one. Yearly medicals and yearly proficiency checks and constant studying but once you are prepared for the challenge you will succeed.
My advice is to continue self development because this is not a job for a pay check.
Your Manual of operations should be your bible with constant studying because your life is going to be all studying from here on.
