As we celebrate our nation’s 43rd independence anniversary, let us recognize that the power of nation-building lies within each and every one of us. As an independent nation, we can only achieve growth and success by working together and inspiring one another.
Although this yearβs theme highlights the immense power of βCommunity Collaboration,β some leaders have declared that constituencies that do not support the government will be left behind. We must reject that divisive mindset by shedding the mental chains of partisanship and unite under a banner of cooperation and hope. It is only through working together that we can create a brighter future and a stronger nation, based on democracy and opportunities for all.
I am proud to be the parliamentary representative for St. Maryβs South, a constituency where our people have a legacy of pooling our resources and talent to ensure our survival. We proudly celebrate our collective contributions to the nation through music, culture, sports, culinary skills and warm hospitality. Our unique achievements in fishing, farming, and tourism are a testament to our entrepreneurial spirit as we make significant contributions to the national economy. With our combined strength and resourcefulness, our community has demonstrated that we can overcome any challenges.
Yet, St. Maryβs South continues to be marginalized. Despite many promises made during the historic by-election one year ago, several critical projects remain incomplete. If we truly want to create more collaboration in our nation, we must empower our communities, break free from the constraints of narrow political ideologies and embrace a more inclusive vision for our future.
We are a resilient community in St. Maryβs South and we will continue to draw strength from our past struggles. Our unwavering determination has long been the bedrock of our independent-minded community, fostering pride and success. We will continue to inspire our young people with hope and promise as we demand the upgrade of our sporting facilities, improved infrastructure, a higher standard of living and boundless opportunities for advancement and growth. We will not be left behind!
As a nation, let us embark on a path of unity and progress, where what we do leave behind are the divisive narratives that have held us back and instead, choose to empower each other. βMay brother walk with brother in fellowship and peace. And banish hate, and fear, and want; her unity increase.β
Only by fostering a spirit of democracy and inclusivity, can we truly transform ‘Community Collaboration’ into ‘Global Gains.β Let us βraise the standardβ and create a nation where every citizen has the opportunity to grow and thrive.
Happy Independence to all.
Hon. Kelvin Simon

Good points
APOSTLE SHUGY SIMON OF THE NAZARENE CHURCH should know better. He claims to be a man of God but still behaving DISHONEST with NO INTEGRITY!
NOW IT IS CLEAR WHY YOU DIDNT STAND UP FOR ΓOUR LEADER MR. PRINGLE ON MISS KNIGHT SHOW.
You and DANGEROUS RICHARD LEWIS ARE OUT TO DEPOSE HON. JAMALE PRINGLE.
You CANNOT BE TRUSTED!!!
It also requires leaving NO WIFE BEHIND!! Strong families = strong community
When a man can reject his wife because she gained weight after carrying his child for 9 months, something wrong with his shallow mind.
Where is shugy WIFE????
Nazarene and Wesleyan Holiness need to discipline shugy.
The party animal HYPOCRITE lacks the moral authority to make any call about country and collaboration
Collaborate with your WIFE AND SON IN ONE HOUSEHOLD AS GOD ORDAINED ππΏ
