Communiqué issued by the Venezuelan Embassy, St. John’s
The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela complaint to the international community that, once again, the authorities of the United States of America, in a recurrent criminal practice that can only be described as piracy, have illegally confiscated an aircraft that has been used by the President of the Republic, justifying their actions with the unilateral and illegal coercive measures they impose around the world.
This action reveals that no State and no constitutional government is safe from illegal actions that disregard international law.
The United States has already demonstrated that it uses its economic and military power to intimidate and pressure States like the Dominican Republic to act as accomplices in its criminal acts. This is an example of the so-called “rules-based order,” which, by disregarding international law, seeks to establish the law of the strongest, create rules that serve its interests, and enforce them with total impunity.
The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela reserves the right to take any legal action to repair this damage to the Nation, as well as all other damages caused by the criminal policy of unilateral coercive measures. Venezuela warns that this is not an isolated action.
On the contrary, it is part of an escalation of actions against the Bolivarian Government of Venezuela, re-elected by the will of the majority of the Venezuelan people on July 28th, and which, faithful to its anti-imperialist and anti-colonialist tradition, will not yield to any aggression. Venezuela demands respect and continues to firmly defend its dignity and sovereignty.

Well said, the diplomatic protocol enjoyed by the international community can be violated with impunity by the USA, look at criminals like netanyahu who has been protected by USA government and media to kill little babies and elderlies in Palestine, and no other nations in the world could take actions against Israel or america sanction them. G7 nations should understand the implications of their actions as regards to sanctions, annexation and witch hunting against their vulnerable nation’s it’s high time global leader’s should hesten to address this issues to avoid unnecessary escalations.
@my way of helping, It is the sanctions the US put on Venezuela that is crippling to the Venezuela people, not the Venezuela Government.

@Eldread – I am in full agreement with you, you have captured it very well. I would just like to add that they used fear tactics on the ICC if they brought arrest warrants against Israeli leaders. Now, ICC arrest warrants have no real effect because several countries will not even honour it – Putin is now travelling to countries that had signed off as members under the ICC. Everybody is now seeing the Hypocrisy of the USA.

The USA is right! Venezuela is a rouge state that harms the rights of free people. Who wants to live in a communist state as a normal person? I can’t believe people in the free world are supporting communist that harms the freedom of people.

Having lived for over 60 years in the world I know how it works. Communism is a cancer that destroys the standard of living for the average person in a state. I have been to Venezuela a few times when I use to live in Trinidad. The people living in Venezuela would prefer to live elsewhere. The majority of persons living in communist states would prefer to move to another place.
I know how the world works. You are the one who is influenced by propaganda to support radicals and dictators. Venezuela has one party ruling for over so many years and you think that is the will of the people?
