Commissioner of Police Visits Retired Officers

Commissioner of Police, Atlee Rodney and other members of the police force took time out on Thursday to visit a number of retired police officers, as part of their police week celebration.

Mr. Rodney used the opportunity during the visit to express gratitude to the retired veterans for their years of dedicated service to the police force, and by extension the nation of Antigua and Barbuda.

Many of them became overwhelmed by the kind gesture, as they welcomed the visit from their former colleagues.

One retired senior sergeant said, “This visit is so touching and heart-warming; it shows that we are not forgotten.”

Each retired officer was presented with a package containing food and other essential items.

Earlier in the week, the officers exhibited a similar act of kindness by distributing well over 200 hundred care packages to residents in several communities across Antigua and Barbuda.

The theme for this year’s police week is, “Working together to achieve stability in times of uncertainty”.

The activities officially come to an end on Saturday 11th September.

Stop trying to spread lies and propoganda. The unruly, lawbreakers had NO PERMISSION to be there. Had they abided by the law, the situation would not have occurred.
