Antigua Carnival 2023 witnessed a historic moment with a three-way tie for the prestigious Road March title.
Celebrated artist Ricardo Drue, known as “Last Man Standing,” shared the top spot with Claudette Peters, aka “Nat U,” and Empress, the voice behind “Let It Rain.”
This unprecedented feat marks the very first instance of a three-way tie in the history of Antigua Carnival’s Road March.

Wow, a 3 way tie. Not the perfect situation. Not simple. I really would like to see one clear winner, but I really cannot see what tie breaker that can be used. I mean this is not soccer and we say who scored first. Nor is this cricket and we say who lost the least wickets, or who scored the most sixes. It’s which song was played the most, and if there is a tie, there is no secondary criteria.
Now, who goes to TNT to represent for the international Soca Monarch. CP would of already ‘been there, done that’. Ricardo Drue is already as big as they come, especially in TNT. Empress can gain the most from that exposure. Glad if the Big 2 can deffer to Empress
I know and you know that Queen Empress win road March, so what’s this thing about 3 way tie? Always corruption in everything, over the years Jumpy Monarch winning tune goes on to easily capture road march, unless Redhot or Burning flames had something to say about it, that’s how it is. What is it because this is Empress first? What you need to do is find out why 25 times when we once had winning tunes playing over a 100 times. Empress the baddest road march in the past few carnivals, now let’s wet up NY, MIA and the rest a de world.
