Claude Steadroy James has been found guilty of causing the death of an elderly woman through dangerous driving.
James was on trial before Justice Tunde Bakre for causing the death of Elba Perez, a 61-year-old Hispanic woman, on April 13, 2021. Perez was struck by a vehicle on Joseph Lane and later died in the hospital.
A medical report detailed Perez’s severe injuries, including profuse bleeding, multiple fractures, and brain hemorrhaging. Despite being found guilty, James remains out on bail until sentencing.
