Clare Browne

On the observance of International Women’s Day, Director of Education, Clare Browne, has paid tribute to the hundreds of women serving in the education system.

Good morning Colleagues!

Today, on the occasion of International Women’s Day, we take time to reflect on the extraordinary women in our everyday lives, and in particular in the Education System here in Antigua and Barbuda. Indubitably, women are an integral part of our Education architecture. Women are an inspiration to our family, society and the nation.

Today, we celebrate all the women who have helped and are helping children and young people of all genders find inspiration and courage through their own experiences and examples.

Today, we celebrate the women role models in all our educational institutions…… principals and teachers who are teaching children and young people to actively question and openly challenge stereotypes and bias helping to forge a more inclusive world.

Today we salute our female colleagues here at MoE Headquarters.

We truly appreciate the role you play in strengthening the foundations of the nation’s education plant. It is indeed an honour to work with all of you. Happy International Women’s Day!
