The Board of Directors of the Eastern Caribbean Civil Aviation Authority (ECCAA) announces the appointment of Mr. Anthony Whittier to the position of Director General of the ECCAA with effect from 1st April 2021.

Mr. Whittier has assumed the helm of the ECCAA, following the retirement of Mr. J. Donald McPhail who served as Director General from 2010 until December 2020.

  1. This is very interesting. ECCAA appears to e scraping the bottom of the barrel…. There is an ongoing court case involving him and the TTCAA.

What ever happened to due diligence, background checks, etc.

What is going on in the OECS? Are they so starved for qualified nationals? There is a bigger story here. We shall wait and see.

      • Lawd! A wah UPP and Harold Lovell do you? So much hatred!
Refer back to all your previous comments?

A wah ALP and Gaston Browne give
        You? So much LOVE!

    • I don’t know if there is bigger story, but I do know that I am jealous that no Antiguan has been appointed to these types of high profile positions. What is wrong with Antiguans? Leadership matters.

    • Correct….this man was fired from TTCAA for taking bribes from operators in Trinidad to get approvals, then moved on to work at national helicopters, but had to leave when they found out about his reputation in the TTCAA. He is the lowest level of scum, a very corrupt individual and should never hold such a position. Horrible decision to put him there.

  2. Is ECCAA relevant? Or is it still a geriatric boys club intent on maintaining the status quo. It appears to be an organisation where retired pilots from Liat go to live out their days at the expense of the taxpayer.

Hopefully, this guy doesn’t have the travel bug like his predecessor and his team of cronies. Traveling worldwide with no evidence of benefit to the organization or the region at large.

One man spent 10 years there and the ECCAA was still downgraded by the FAA. Shameful!
