On Thursday (June 22nd), the Grace Apostolic Church of Union Road, Grays Farm, through the visiting ‘Sisters with Purpose’ of Canada donated several medical supplies to the Grays Farm Health Center.

The supplies were facilitated by ‘Not Just Tourists’ of Toronto, a non-religious, non-political organization run by volunteers for the past 25 years. Its mission is to assist those who urgently need health care.

The medical supplies include bandages, gauze, tapes, antiseptics, alcohol swabs, saline flushes. IV Kits, examination gloves, scalpels, disposable needles, syringes, urinary supplies, masks and respiratory supplies and bed linens.

Nurse Phillipa Roberts, Superintendent of Public Health Nurses SPHN), accepted the donations on behalf of the nurses and staff of the Grays Farm Health Center. She thanked the donors and promised that the much needed medical items will be put to good and effective use.

Pastor Rosalind Robinson of Grace Apostolic Church said she was delighted to hand over the supplies to the health center.  She noted that the church is part of the community and that it is important for Grace Apostolic to support the community whenever possible.  The gift of medical supplies to be used by the Grays Farm Health Center for the benefit of the local residents was a prime example of charity beginning at home.
