A Christian Valley family was granted bail after making their first appearance in the All Saints Magistrates Court on drug charges today.
Seventy-six-year-old Osei Kenyatta Elihu and his daughters, 25-year-old Efuru Adaze Elihu and 19-year-old Moussourourah Elihu were charged with Possession of 33 pounds of Cannabis, Possession with intent to transfer, and being concerned in the supplying of Cannabis.
They were further charged with cultivation of 1100 cannabis plants, and Possession of 1100 cannabis plants with intent to transfer.
The father was granted bail in sum of $200,000 with a cash component of $8000.
The 25-year-old was granted bail to the tune of $60,000 with a cash component of $5000, while the younger daughter was released into her mother’s custody and placed on a 7:00 pm curfew.
Police officers attached to Narcotics Department conducted a drugs eradication operation last week and reportedly found the cannabis on the family’s property.
The substance carries an estimated street value of $266,000.
