Teachers from Christ the King School, dressed in black and white attire, gathered at the school’s entrance to draw attention to their lack of salary increases for over five years.
Despite a 2023 announcement of increased school fees to fund these raises, teachers haven’t seen any raise as of September 2024.
Negotiations with the ABUT are prolonged, causing frustration and feelings of being undervalued among teachers.
They stress the need for fair compensation, especially amid inflation and a rising cost of living, emphasizing their vital role in students’ academic success.

Why do we treat essential people in the community like this. Nurses, teachers and other similar individuals are important to the continued functioning of our country and we treat them so poorly, then when they leave to better pastures we think they are ungrateful and have no love for their country…
One man… ladies, stand up. The funny thing is, these folks will put their jobs on the line to protest while the others stand or sit back and reap the benefits. Sad. School fee will increase to accommodate this demand.
How can the man of the cloth allow things to denigrate to this level? JUST HOW? School fees were increased just the other day to meet increase salary payments. WHEY DE MONEY GORN. Corruption all over…even in church run institutions.
