In order to operate efficiently, effectively, and in a modern way, St. John’s Harbour has had to be modernized.

Approximately 87% of the port’s redevelopment is complete, and it will become the most versatile, modern, and competitive port in the Caribbean. Prime Minister Gaston Browne said, “This project represents the single largest public sector investment undertaken by any government in history.”

The St. John’s Harbour began construction in 2018 and construction of the port continued throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

“After completion, we will be the only Eastern Caribbean port that can simultaneously berth 5 cruise ships and 3 container ships within the same harbour,” said Darwin Telemaque , Port Manager.

  1. I thought the OECS were collaborators. Not competitors. No wonder institutions such as LIAT 1974 ltd. fell apart. It is easy to fill the coffers of foreign entities than protect your own. Willie Lynch Syndrome in full effect!!!!

  2. That backstabbing b Gaston Browne continuing to sell us out.

Bring back the stripper pole bus. I voting for them.

    • Antigua and Barbuda done sold out. This will be the year investors are coming to claim what portions of the island belong to them. They will be knocking on our doors informing us we are living on their lands.

    • Wonderful progress ๐Ÿ‘
Looking forward to seeing the final result ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡ฌ

We hear you loud and clear Jonathan

    • @Joe you are right on that. When the Chinese come looking for their money you know what will happen next. We Antiguans will lose more of our lands and more importantly our infrastructure. We should change to law to make the foreign investors go directly after the corrupt politicians for their money. We didn’t vote for the politicians to give away our heritage, lands and infrastructure.

  3. Itโ€™s not that the ALP hasnโ€™t improved our country in small ways, itโ€™s how itโ€™s being done. Elections coming, letโ€™s start talking water supply, food prices, etc. etc. talk is cheap. Weโ€™ve heard it all before.
Sell off our lands to the wealthy. So deep in with the Chinese government one starts to wonder when they will replace the Antiguan flag with thereโ€™s.
Lawyers, politicians, Receiver, etc. getting richer each day, leaving nothing for the real hard working people of this island.
Is there one honest business man or woman left on this island? Havenโ€™t you used and abused the people enough while enriching yourselves, family and friends?
    Where is the integrity, honor…..
Best you greedy people start looking within cause karma is a …..

  4. Hope them pay the Chinese their money as they may be looking for a port in the Caribbean. They like building and seizing ports for the debt. But Uncle Sam is looking.

  5. ANR now has too many ads. I paid the “support fee” but still seeing tons of crazy ads. Why?! I think you’d prefer the support from ads instead of us!
