Pang Qingjie emphasized China’s commitment to equal and mutually beneficial cooperation with all nations, including Antigua and Barbuda and the US.

He highlighted longstanding projects that have directly benefited Antigua and Barbuda’s people and promoted economic and social development, stressing China’s policy of non-interference in internal affairs and opposition to geopolitical competition.

Furthermore, Pang Qingjie asserted that developing countries should be treated as equal partners, with cooperation based on mutual respect and without external imposition.

He rejected the characterization of Caribbean nations as pawns in geopolitical games and called for constructive dialogue and practical assistance to benefit their peoples.

Lastly, Pang Qingjie underscored the interconnectedness of nations in today’s world and advocated for cooperation rather than confrontation between China and the US.

  1. What we need is peace around the world but as we know the devil came to kill, steal and destroy and woul use anyone available to do his dirty work. The geopolitical systems need to find ways of solving world crisis together and using their resources to nurture such. Until the world leaders can come in unity to diminish poverty and hate then there will always be wars. I urge world leaders to turn from seeing who really is the super power and use your expertise, influence and resources to raise the standards of living in the poor and needy nations.

  2. I’m not in agreement with PM Browne recently on the issue of friendship with other States, the Nation of Antigua and Barbuda talk to anyone, and develop friendships. The United States must not dictate who are friends or not. The US in my view is like a man who leaves his faithful wife at home, and go all over the world prostituting himself, and still expect loyalty.
The United States have not done much to elevate its peaceful southern neighbors. This will not change with so many right wing zealots in the Congress; and a criminal is about to become President once again. America must not select Antigua’s friends. China must also know we don’t want naval bases. We welcome the opportunities for economic development. We are not interested in fighting wars.

  3. The United Nation needs to be reformed, they need to get rid of the veto policies, when a vote is cast the majority should be final, how many times the US Veto the decision of the rest of the World for a permanent cease fire in Gaza?

Blinken come to the main stream Media with a straight face saying they do not see any Genocide taking place in Gaza, if he go to China with a lecture they will not even fuss with them, China will just continue to focus on their developments, good standing, and equal partnership while developing the less developed countries.

Blinken should talk about the US becoming part of the Belt and road initiatives, and ask China to construct the new bridge in DC that collapse when that container ship accidentally collided with it, seems like they are having a hard time resolving that.

The US need fast speed bullet trains, their bridges and infrastructure need to be overhaul, and they know China is very good at that around the world, they have proved themselves, why not just do business with China and stop causing friction, it will be so beautiful to see.

    • Hamas are terrorists plain and simple. unfortunate how the media hides their atrocities. Israel has demonstrated more than restraint but a country has the right to defend themselves

  4. @Geopolitical Issues
Antiguans should not be worried about geopolitics but the give way of Antigua’s sovereignty io the Yida economic zone. Your statement should address this. This is what the article in Newsweek was about.
Is ok to have a state within a state called a free trade zone that can sell Antiguan passports to build its infrastructure. Is it ok to allow this zone to bring in all foreign workers, pay no taxes in Antigua and build businesses to produce pharmaceuticals and heaven knows what else to sell to Antiguans. Is it ok to have this entity build fish farms to pollute our waters. Just remember the poisoning of baby formulas in China that killed hundreds of babies. Is ok for them to build a sea port and their own customs, and airport, without government control, and no control about who enters the country. What is really the benefit to the regular citizens. With the secrecy surrounding ownership, it is likely that some politicians are involved and this is the reason for the giveaways. Why wasn’t this free trade zone brought to parliament and Antiguans before being signed. I thought that Antigua was owned by Antiguans and not just Gaston. Did Antiguans know anything about this free trade zone until the opposition disclosed it.

  5. I agree with “Observation”. The points raised are being overlooked. Antiguans and Barbudans need to read what China is doing to the Uyghurs.
When these self serving politicians are dead and gone they will leave the people in such dire state of servitude for our future generations. How long before they own the whole of Antigua. Past slave owners had no interest in educating black people nor will the Chinese. It is time we raise our game and stop selling out our heritage as merger as it is. The current government must have all been drugged to have sign such a contract where the peoples of A&B get any benefit from this agreement.
If those former colonials were not so greedy and the IMF in their hashness with the interest they demand from small nations the world would be a better place. When you are having to borrow to pay interest there is no money left to elevate your people out of perpetual debt, poverty and misery.
