Chief of Staff Lionel ‘Max’ Hurst responded to CYW International group’s concerns over the country’s first crematorium construction fallout.

The group, including Shelley Challenger, Minnelle Williams, and Shari Yearwood, withdrew from the project, citing a breach of confidentiality.

They claimed their detailed business proposal was leaked to the media, compromising the project.

Hurst refuted claims of confidentiality, stating the government is transparent.

Initially, the government approached local funeral homes, but later accepted the trio’s proposal to invest up to US$3.5 million in the project, which included the crematorium, a garden, a chapel, and urn storage.

  1. When you lie, you always have to tell other lies to cover. Max Wurst, it will be a good day when you get out of politics, get off the airways and just shut up. Only the dunce minions listen to you lies.
How do you sleep at nights? You’re like what? 80 years old? Man retire and spend time doing some serious penance. Make your peace with God and do something good for a change.

  2. TRANSPARENCY!!! Don’t mek mi laugh 😂, however, what Antiguans should take comfort from, after ten (🔟) years of broken promises from the ABLP.

WHATEVER THEY TELL US (ESPECIALLY GASLIGHT BROWNE), JUST THINK THE OPPOSITE, AND IT IS THERE THAT YOU WILL FIND THE TRUTH.

THIS ACTUALLY WORKS – TRY IT!

  3. Max looks really unhealthy to me..
    What’s going on?
He don’t look good at all..
    Could it be old age?
Seriously, since he came back from China, mr.hurst looks haggard and tired.
I bey yah there’s something going on with him.

  4. These people of the Labour Party are a waste. No investment can come to Antigua because they want a commission and a share. Not surprised as they don’t want to see people who look like them prosper unless it is one of them. They will not deal with people who will not put money in their pockets.
How does he know a crematorium will not be profitable? Considering the costs of funerals in Antigua, plenty people will take this option.

  5. Eating shoes Hurst need to be either put out to pasture or be left to wither like the old bull he is!!! U hear lie??? Dat is lie!!!

  6. Antigua is very awkward when it comes to business leaving it decades behind other comparable Caribbean islands. Sets a negative tone for people wishing to invest here. The leadership clearly isn’t doing a good job, leaving investors no option but to invest elsewhere. Infrastructure, roads, running water, are all standard in similar countries. Why are we so far behind. The world is filled with examples to follow. Unfortunate that we don’t.

  7. Am not so concerned about the crematorium, since our culture is not of that ideology, where mostly atheist and other cultures want this benefits in place for them, trust me it’s not been done for Antiguans but we are footing the bill, all the passport sales have people of different ideology living among us. Have you ever seen the crying at funerals, for someone to see comprehend their live ones been burn to ashes especially since we were brainwashed by white religion about some hell fire that would be incomprehensible .

  9. A crematorium is necessary in Antigua. There will not be need of an expensive coffin and no need for a burial spot. Considering that people can’t find their relatives graves as they are dug up and reused after a few years, I don’t know what Hurst is talking about. I doubt he knows himself.
