Authorities in Antigua and Barbuda insist that law enforcement is fully engaged in the search for missing man Orden David, dismissing claims that efforts have been inadequate.
Chief of Staff in the Prime Minister’s Office, Lionel Hurst, said during Thursday’s Cabinet press briefing that police have been actively involved, deploying resources to locate David, who has been missing for almost a week.
“The police are very much a part of this search to try to find him,” Hurst said. “They have deployed some very valuable assets to attempt to locate this missing man.”
His comments come amid concerns that authorities have not been doing enough. However, Hurst said a report from the Deputy Commissioner, presented to Acting Prime Minister Steadroy Benjamin during Wednesday’s Cabinet meeting, confirmed that significant efforts were underway.
“It is not accurate to portray the police as not being involved,” he said. “We just want to make it very clear that in a report provided by the Deputy Commissioner to the Attorney General yesterday, who was acting Prime Minister, during the Cabinet session, the police have indeed committed significant assets towards attempting to find this young man.”
David’s disappearance has led to growing unease, with many questioning why he has not yet been located. Hurst acknowledged the challenges, despite Antigua’s size, saying that search efforts were being hampered by various factors.
“As you know, Antigua is only 108 square miles. It ought not be very difficult, but depending on the circumstances and, of course, the whereabouts, we are experiencing the kind of challenges that you would expect, even in a bigger place.”
Authorities continue to appeal for any information that could assist in locating David.

It’s good to hear Chief of Staff Lionel Hurst addressing concerns and reaffirming that the police are actively searching for Orden David. Keeping the public informed is crucial in situations like this, as transparency helps maintain trust in law enforcement. However, while these assurances are appreciated, many still feel that more visible action is needed. If the search is truly active, why haven’t there been more significant updates or clear evidence of progress? The authorities must ensure that their efforts match the urgency this case demands.
A more open approach could ease concerns and reinforce confidence that everything possible is being done to find him.
RAG TAG 🤡 is the one casting aspersions at the RPFAB
@Patriot, hope you or none of your family members don’t go missing! You asked who’s Orden🤔 First He’s a human being, he’s somebody’s child, he’s somebody brother, co-worker, friend. While all lives matters, its all up to your families to pursue in search to find their love ones! We can’t have a love one go missing and sit down like it doesn’t matter and leave it alone up to the police. Again EACH LIFE MATTER!
Glad of the effort. I wish there was a clearer indication of the “challenges” but grateful that there appears to be efforts to address them so that the search is thorough. In hopes for Orden’s safety

What I’m not understanding, is this; when it comes to S.R.R. – Search Rescue & Recovery, Canine Units still play a vital role in the Search aspect of the investigations. Now, I could be mistaken; but, outside of the Canine Unit which was being established during your time in the RPFAB, by ASP Pelle to sniff drugs/weed, is there such a Canine Unit in the Defense Force or in the RPFAB that has dogs to track people’s scent?
OK! Bears, elephants and sharks are great at, tracking scents, and since we only have #HUEman_Sharks, that track and trap dollars & cents, I’m gonna sip on some coconut water and mind my biz on this one.
Dogs, Dawgs and Rats which we have an abundance of, stray dogs, barefaced rats and #Dawg_B******^Z (gotta have RASpect for the officer, can’t take those filthy shituation in down town lockups); but, you get the drift, we can train bloodhounds or other breeds of dogs, let the Chinese teach us how to utilize the RATS, to their fullest potential. Just train a BEN and he’ll recruit and least his unit. St. John’s has enough food and rat holes for them to hand out in, on their down time.
As for those #Top_Dawg_Pups #who’re trying hard to be his number one B***h; again, I’ll take a glass of fresh jelly water with a splash of English Harbour Gold black or brown, but none of the white one, that is great for herbal tinctures but harsh on the body…Big Up de Kennedy Kru! Dem hab moh lyrics, than Absti and Buju.
Seriously though, with the present uptick in MISSING PERSONS, a Canine Unit is vital and essential when dealing with critical situations like these!
