      • I think he would do a good job. Maybe he’ll show the clerks how to schedule the hearings at 15 !minute intervals instead of making the whole crowd wait around from 9 am until 1 pm!

  1. Suspended with full pay??? Wa da joke ya tarl……I wish someone would suspend me with full pay until further notice…..real rubbish!

  2. This action, though regrettable was precipitated by the findings of the Judicial and Legal Services Commission. Magistrate Walsh brought a certain amount of respect, authority and no nonsense approach to the bench and anyone who had anything to do with the court couldn’t help but noticing her tremendous work ethics and her ability to dispense of matters before her in a manner like we have never before seen in Antigua. Her efficiency speak volume!

    • For instance by denying a party their lawful right to cross examine a witness and by completely ignoring evidence and submissions which is what happened to me. Goodbye Joanne!

  3. Antigua’s Kangaroo court system strikes again !

    Suspended with full pay? That’s not a punishment — that’s a vacation.

    Wadadli’s Class divide hits hard…smdh!

    • A person is innocent until found guilty by a court of law. Therefore, you cannot punish a person before found guilty.

      • Is this the magistrate that put minor girls in HMP 1735 because for the crime of “running away” from home?….Despicable !

  4. One group of people you don’t mess with, they will bring you down. No presidential candidate would ever speak out against this group if they have any intention in winning. A former Jamaican Prime Minister who survived all kind of scandals from gun running to money laundering make spoke out against this group and his popularity and he lost bat and ball and game.

    • We need to hold people in power ACCOUNTABLE. IF we have any kind of bias or ethics, we need to presume that powerful people are more likely to behave in a corrupt manner, as opposed to try and white washing their actions in history. Power does corrupt it changes everything, the thing is attracting the right people to fill these spaces.

  5. Paid vacation for bad behaviour. Lady, go do some travelling and enjoy your time off like Asot. I am jealous i need one of those, somebody teach me how to get in on the action, me a beg are you…. antigua is really a joke…

  6. I see persons saying the Chief Magistrate helped others, best Chief Magistrate, quickest…REDACTED

  7. Our politicians, doctors & senior police officers need to be held accountable for what they and allow. Similar to what the chief magistrate is facing, there should be consequences to these officials actions

  8. It’s a great thing, to see Regulatory Agency’s like the Judicial and Legal Services Commission – JLSC do what they’re intended to do, to help regulate and clean up these CORRUPT ORDERS/GROUPS/ORGANIZATIONS in the Caribbean.
If, CARICOM is going to work as it’s intended with the FREE MOVEMENT of citizens/denizens, then, not only are these REGULATORY AGENCIES important, they’re vital to the stability of the region.
I hope, that the JLSC bite with teeth is better, than their bark with gums.

It’s time and if they’re not in place, introduce such things as…

A…the RICO Act – Racketeering Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act.

    B…the Whistle Blowers Protection Act.

Now, the question begs, if found guilty of these charges(depending on which one’s), and she has exhausted all of her appeals and still found guilty, how can such verdict affect those cases which she adjudicated which being the Chief Magistrate.

All systems require tweaking to keep up with the advancement of society. We in the Caribbean are no different. We are a FIRST WORLD REGION, thus bring on and institute FIRST WORLD REGULATIONS.
We want and need REGIONAL AGENCIES like the JLSC to investigate and lay charges against our corrupt politicians as well.
