Chester Hughes, aged 49 and a resident of Paynter’s, reported to the Parham Police Station that his black and silver 9mm Ruger firearm, along with a magazine containing 17 rounds of ammunition, had been stolen from his vehicle.

The theft took place sometime between 7:00 p.m. on Saturday and 4:00 p.m. the following day. According to Hughes, he had placed the firearm in the right driver’s door pocket of his Silver Subaru Legacy.

He stated that at approximately 10:30 a.m., he picked up an individual and took him to his home to cut his yard.

After arriving at his home, Hughes locked his car, leaving the gun inside, and went to sleep.

At around 4:00 p.m., the landscaper informed Hughes that he was leaving and someone would be picking him up.

Later, when Hughes went back to his car, he discovered that his gun was missing.

The landscaper is suspected of being involved in the theft, but attempts to contact him have been unsuccessful. Police are currently investigating the matter.

    • @ Ras Smood: Very irresponsible indeed! Now we can understand why the island is plagued with these loose firearms. Is it these type of persons should be leaders in our country? Hell no I say!

      • @Bluddy Bloke…this is not about politics. Allegedly, Humphreys lost or had his stolen while at a #whore_house on Back_Street!
This is about gun safety. It seems as if conceal carry is allowed in A, B & REDONDA.
Open carry would make licensed gun holders to be more mindful of the gun in a holster on the hip or waist.

Now Bloke, you can put on the Tessa B. mask and attack Bowen.

      • I suppose you prefer a Crazy Homosexual Thief as leader. That’s irresponsibility though and there should be some kind reprimand.

  1. Revoke his license for the callousness. Who the hell leave a gun in their car like it’s a bag. That is irresponsible of him and he should be fined or revoke his license.

    • No…the gun was left in the door pocket.. no force entry reported and the car was lock.

  2. So why they have to give his age they didn’t give the name or age of the UK visitor n his girlfriend or the woman in Sutherland that saw the mask man under her house.

  3. Oh please.. time line of theft too vague..7:00 pm Saturday night and 4:00 Sunday…pick up landscaper 10:30 am sunday…guy left at 4:00pm.

  4. Not the first time if my memory serves me right. Chester seems to be always losing his gun

  5. I am a license gun owner not in Antigua. I have never left any of my guns in the car. Where ever I am my guns are also. You cannot leave your guns in your car and or carelessly for anyone to snatch up.

    • @Enquiring Minds…Me a buss a #lime, innah dis Rum_Shap yah, teeday.

  7. Guns should be made illegal for all. Any one found with a gun or ammo automatic life in prison with hard labour.. This includes antique gun holders.

Sports and law enforcement only exception….
Firearms for sports are kept at the law enforcement armory.

Simple and clear for all to understand. Do something different if you desire a different out come. Otherwise continue the same things and enjoy the results.

  8. Hope that was not the gun slammed down on table to “intimidate” UPP candidates. Jonathan Joseph what say you? Were you there?

  9. Emergency Medical Services were there attending to Ms. Barthley. There was blood on her neck. The detectives spoke with Bowen. He handed over to Sergeant Edwards a black PIETRO BERETTA .25 PISTOL which contained 8 rounds of ammunition. The police recovered a spent shell and other items from the scene of the incident. Bowen was detained.
