CDC issues Level 4 ‘Very High’ COVID-19 Advisory for Saint Lucia

The United States Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC)has issued a Level 4 COVID-19 travel health advisory for Saint Lucia.

The agency’s  4-level system categorises destinations into four levels.

They are – Level 4: Very high level of COVID-19; Level 3: High level of COVID-19; Level 2: Moderate level of COVID-19 and Level 1: Low level of COVID-19.

The primary criteria for destinations with a population of 200,000 or less are: 1. COVID-19 case counts (cumulative new cases over the past 28 days) and 2. New case trajectory (Are new cases over the past 28 days increasing, decreasing, or stable?), the CDC says.

“Travelers should avoid all travel to Saint Lucia,” the CDC said on its official website.

The agency warned that travel increases the chance of getting and spreading COVID-19.

Nevertheless, it advised that if travel is a must, individuals must get a viral test 1-3 days before their trip.

“Do not travel if you are waiting for test results, test positive, or are sick,” the CDC stated.

“Follow all entry requirements for your destination and provide any required or requested health information,” it said.

    • The chicken littles among us would prefer not to hear such. One guy claims he can know based on a cough if someone have covid. Based on this super power he has surmised that A&B have thousands of covid cases. If only we could send him to the US to help them save money from testing

      • The truth is we should assume any upper respiratory symptoms or GI symptoms are COVID until COVID is ruled out on a case by case basis.

That is SOP during a pandemic

  1. See also SVN where masks are not mandatory and the PM there who does not believe in curfews had 62 new covid cases, 481 active. They have now declared a 2 day public holiday for prayers and reflection The PM in SLU has more challenges (returning nationals taking advantage on unsecured borders) than SVN, but based on the current trend, SVN will soon outpace even SLU in terms of total covid cases . They already have more active cases than SLU. Gonsalves needs to rethink his strategy because if things continue, they will soon move from level 3 to 4.
