Scores of workers at Central Board of Health congregated in protest outside their workplace on Monday.
Shop Steward, Sonia Daniel told state media, “the workers are adamant about a problem that they have about the back-pay”.
“Overtime also but mainly the back-pay part that they had promised us since 2018 December. We have gotten one part already, which is November 2018 but up until now we haven’t heard about anything about the second one”, she explained.
Daniel said they have tried unsuccessfully to get answers on the matter.
“I wrote a letter to the P.S. already and was waiting for an answer, which the… we never got back an answer really but the workers and them decide they can’t take it no more so they just stand up.”
One worker held a placard that read, “It’s my money and I want it $NOW$”.
