Cash Strapped Digicel Implements Pay Cut

4

Digicel employees have been asked to take a temporary pay cut.

The telecommunications company in a statement says the decision has been brought on by the economic consequences of the COVID- 19 pandemic.

Digicel says the reductions will be done on a tiered basis ranging from 5 to 20 percent.

Employees who are paid an annual basic salary of 10-thousand-US or 27-thousand-EC dollars or less will NOT be affected.

The pay reduction is expected to last until the end of the company’s 2021 financial year.

Digicel says the change is necessary to keep as many people as possible employed and to protect the business.

  1. I hope the managers will receive the highest pay cuts and line staff the lowest… It will only be fair.!

  2. APUA just indicated they are cash strapped.. Asking employees to work added hours without compensation. So obviously, they aren’t doing too well themselves.
