Nouy, from Guadeloupe, was reportedly struck by Geisler while walking near Falmouth Harbour Marina on June 5, 2022.

Initially, his injuries seemed non-life-threatening, but his condition deteriorated, leading to a coma.

After being airlifted to Guadeloupe and then to Paris for extensive treatment, Nouy gradually recovered his ability to walk, eat unaided, and communicate with loved ones.

Geisler’s lawyer, Lawrence Daniels, argued that the police’s failure to produce a case file and Nouy’s departure from Antigua were grounds for the case’s dismissal.

  1. There must be a God who will punish perverse judges , heartless lawyers and incompetent police. They must suffer the same pain in this life and the next.

  2. Cutie Benjamin and Commissioner Rodney must be held accountable either for what appears to be corruption or gross ineptitude. ANR please investigate and publish the name of the investigating officer.
I hope visitors and tourists take note that this is a country where the Police cannot be trusted

  3. So, please tell the nation that our vaunted police; charged with even the cursory investigation, did not submit an incident report to his command station. Tell the nation how was it that the incident of the accident, did gets into court without the DP office proffering charges to be answered. Tell the nation that: someone who suffer catastrophic results occurring from an accident; must not avail themselves to the best possible option for medical care- not available on Island. Tell the nation whether there was an arrest or, other consequences resulting from an accident in a ten-mile zone stretch of English Harbour – crowded with pedestrians of different sates of inebriation and language deferential -leisurely ambling about. Please tell the Nation what haste that would demand rush for judgment of justice to be so callous, as to compound the injured and afflicted thus. to contend with such an irrational rendering of justice; as to be deemed perverse and, foolishly bonding of our jurisprudence with a fallacy judgment, in light of a sovereign state. I voice a citizen of conscience appeal for a stay of the judgment – of the no-case submissions for cause: to be deem null and void. And the case be reinstated and docket for processing and, further consultation with the plaintiff, to ascertain medical condition and leave, for his availability for in person or, virtual proceeding. This, hereby submitted: In the noble vein of transparency and accountability.

  4. So the police deliberately killed the case and there are no consequences for them. That is so unjust. They are doing the same with the Andrea Hughes case. My faith let me believe that God does not sleep. And those officers involved will one day have to answer. This loophole should not be there. The law must take its course. This is circumventing justice. It aint right.

  5. This is the HEIGHT OF INCOMPETENCE. A woman allegedly lick down a man with her car causing gross bodily injuries and she gets to walk away because the Police cannot put a case forward years later?

  6. Psalm 37 Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. 2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.
Cutie Benjamin , the police and their corrupt Magistrates will face their Judgement soon enough.

  7. Now, I don’t know if the person changed is guilty or not.
But it is sickening to see that someone could be so badly injured and our justice process is so poor that it has ended with this result.

If the person who was charged is not guilty, then they deserve the court to declare so.

On the other hand, if guilty should bear the consequences of their actions.

But to have the matter ” resolved” by inaction of the police/public prosecutor is completely unacceptable.

Such distain for the people will only lead to further negative outcomes

If we cannot trust the police/prosecution and judges to provide justice, how far away from Haiti are we?

Hopefully in this case the injured man’s family has the means to bring a civil case against the alleged driver. I wonder if the police would cooperate with the victim, or perhaps that is only if they pay more

  8. The victim should file a civil suit against the government and the person who knock him down ASAP.

  9. “…… and Nouy’s departure from Antigua were grounds for the case’s dismissal.”

Oh, so he should have stayed in Antigua and died?

  10. And then if he had died here, what would the Police have said, then: “Well, he wasn’t present to give evidence, so we couldn’t create a file?”

And here I was, thinking that being teargassed during an “invisible march up Market Street” on August 8, 2021, was the height of police creativity. Silly me.
