The man who robbed Carlile Bay Resort and took one of its employees as hostage made good his escape with about 70 thousand dollars.
He nabbed approximately 10 thousand US dollars and 41 thousand EC during the daring daylight robbery at the luxury resort in Old Road.
The thief continues to evade lawmen who are continuing their search f and are asking for the public’s assistance that will lead to his capture.
Police say that at around one p.m. on Saturday (June 30, 2018) a gunman, dressed in blue overalls and masked with white a t-shirt over his mouth, forced his way into an office where two female employees sat. He then demanded to be taken to a safe.
According to reports, the assailant held one of the women at gun point and forced her to empty the safe.
He then escaped in one of the women’s vehicle (a grey/silver Honda CRV) and made off with E.C $41,149 and US $10,000 in cash. He also took the woman as a hostage to get past security.
He released the hostage near Fig Tree Drive and made off with the monies. The woman’s vehicle was later found abandoned in the John Hughes area.
Police Public Relations Officer, Inspector Lester Bagot is asking anyone with information to call in anonymously to the nearest police station or the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) at 4623913 or 4623914.
