The Caribbean Community CARICOM has congratulated the Government and People of the Republic Haiti on its Two Hundred and Seventeenth Anniversary of Independence, while highlighting the impact of the country’s inspiring history on the Region.
“The Community joins with the People of Haiti to honour their inspiring history which has been a guiding light for the Region and further afield, and to celebrate this auspicious occasion with them,” CARICOM Secretary-General Ambassador Irwin LaRocque said in his congratulatory message to Haiti’s President HE Jovenel Moïse.
“Excellency, in extending our best wishes on this anniversary, it is hoped that the rich history and symbolism it represents will continue to be a source of national unity and pride for all Haitians,” the Secretary-General said.
He noted that the Community’s best wishes are extended as the Government and People strive to overcome the inevitable challenges that arise, buoyed by their indomitable spirit, without which there is no possibility or promise of a better future.
Haiti is a Member of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), having joined in 2002.

Oh please. What exactly has Haiti “achieved”?? Other than calamity, confusion, chaos, poverty, political unrest, darkness, discord, low literacy rate, economic stagnation, corruption and anarchy? 217 years of nothing. They just can’t seem to get their shit together. Maybe their voodoo working against them.
