Caribbean’s First Space Travelers: Antiguan Mom and Daughter Embark on Galactic 02 Mission

3

Antigua and Barbuda will soon witness history as a mother and daughter duo prepares for a groundbreaking space journey next month.

Keisha Schahaff, 46, fulfilled her childhood dream by winning two tickets worth $450,000 each from Virgin Galactic’s space tourism sweepstakes.

She generously gifted the second ticket to her aspiring astrobiologist daughter, Anastasia Mayers, 18.

The duo, after clearing medical tests and extensive training, will become the first Caribbean representatives in space.

Notably, Anastasia will be the second-youngest person to reach space.

A live stream of the VSS Unity space rocket launch will be available on Virgin Galactic’s website. (OBSERVER)
