From February 2nd to 4th, 2024, the Antigua and Barbuda Pharmaceutical Society hosted the forty-eighth Caribbean Association of Pharmacists (CAP) Symposium, themed “Pharmacists making a difference in patients’ lives.”
The hybrid event, both in-person and online, provided a crucial platform for pharmacists across the Caribbean to address evolving healthcare challenges and stay updated on dynamic pharmaceutical environments.
Antigua and Barbuda School of Pharmacy students focused on patient compliance and safety in their presentations.
The Symposium emphasized continuous learning, fostering professional camaraderie, and a commitment to advancing Antigua and Barbuda’s pharmaceutical sector.
Minister of Health, Sir Molwyn Joseph, expressed support for the Symposium’s role in elevating healthcare standards.
As the event concluded, organizers and participants aimed to implement insights for tangible improvements in patient care, not only locally but also across the wider Caribbean region.

A very important symposium, that hopefully, will tackle the vital shortage of life-saving medicines.
Sadly, we don’t have Antiguans like the former political heavyweight Hilson Baptist to guide, enforce and protect those that need these vital prescriptions.
And having Molwyn ‘AstraZeneca’ Joseph in charge of this important meeting is akin to having someone TOTALLY unqualified running Antigua & Barbuda … but wait, hold on a dog-on minute 🤯
