Culvert Charles, a longshore man at the Deep Water Harbour, is said to be in serious condition at the hospital, after a three vehicle accident on Sir Sydney Walling Highway in the early morning hours of Friday.

Sources say Charles suffered a snapped neck and remains unconscious at hospital.

At about 2:30 AM morning, he was said to be coming from the Triple Thursdays event at the Sir Vivian Richards stadium. Travelling on the highway, he reportedly tipped the edge of a pick-up truck and then ran off the road near the former Transport Board offices.

The Police traffic department said three vehicles, a truck and two motor cars were involved in the collision.

Update

An earlier version of this article quoted police sources as saying that Tiquan Astaphan had turned himself in for being involved with the crash. The police traffic department has since released the young man and have cleared him of any involvement with accident. Any distress caused to the young man and his family is deeply regretted.

  1. again triple Thursday again three vehicles one lady died and now again 3 vehicles 1 person critical crazy. ….333 sacrifices or what. ..

  2. Stop slandering people name. The guy who they claim fled the scene wasn’t even anywhere near the scene. News reporters need to get their facts straight. His age is stated wrong, his car wasn’t even hit or dent or in any accident and he wasn’t even near the accident at the time and lastly they need to learn to get credible witnesses. It’s high time the police force do their investigation properly before they pass over false information to any news reporters. I’m tired of this nonsense and in addition to that that’s my family they are messing with. I’m a strong believer on in if you do the crime serve the time and this young man is being wrongly accused. And I will not rest until they publicly apologize for posting false information on an innocent young man.

  3. It is time to patrol the roads!! Antigua needs authority presence in the streets, the government need to fight against thieves, crimes and keep roads safe.
