Cannabis Worth 40,000 Seized at Sea Port

Police and Customs seized approximately 40,000 dollars worth of cannabis at Deep Water Harbour on Friday.

Five vacuum-sealed packages of the controlled substance were found inside a barrel of food items during a routine search. It amounted to five pounds and was taken to the police station pending further investigations.

  1. Aren’t we missing something here? I think it should be obvious that ‘someone’ was clearing that ‘barrel of food’ in which the ‘substance’ was found. Yet, we hear nothing about anyone being even held for questioning. Why not?

  2. Did anyone ever told these importers that Antiguans can grow their own cannabis. Four Trees each. Or is it the case that some still think home grown weed is not good enough.

  3. People still smuggling a legal drug in the country? What I cannot stand is the way these guys walk around smoking spliff right infront the police. It’s almost like…well tek dat. Apart from that these guys don’t even realize that the weed got their lips black and their eyes red and they teeth baige. Some handsome looking guys too. Fellas give up the smoking. There’s already a shortage of men in Antigua.

  4. I will never understand why the police don’t wait for someone to clear the barrel so they can make an arrest. Seems like it’s sent and the people taking it to the station were expecting the delivery. Just saying. Lots of drugs being seized with no arrest.
