Canadian truckers: Ambassador Bridge reopens after at least 2 dozen arrested

Demonstrators at the Ambassador Bridge blockade in Windsor, Canada, slammed law enforcement and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau after police cleared the protest Sunday morning.

“This is Canada, it’s supposed to be a free country,” one 83 year-old-man named Joachim Machnic told Fox News. “We have the right to protest” and “now we’re even being denied the place to protest.”

The Ambassador Bridge, which connects roughly one-quarter of Canada-U.S. trade, has been blocked for nearly a week by demonstrators advocating for an end to COVID-19 mandates. On Friday, a Canadian court ordered protesters vacate the area.

Police began enforcing the order Saturday morning, but many demonstrators still remained that evening.

On Sunday morning, police pushed remaining protesters down the road and away from the bridge, making at least a dozen arrests and towing vehicles along the way.

One demonstrator said: “It’s unreal. It would be nice to have a little bit more support from the police, but I guess it comes down to this.”

Lynn McDonald, said: “It’s ridiculous” referring to the large police presence. “This is not what we put our tax payer money out for.”

In a statement released Sunday morning, Windsor Police said: “throughout this demonstration, Police have respected the protesters’ freedom of expression and their right to a peaceful assembly…remaining committed to professionalism, keeping lines of communication open and using proper  police discretion, guided our response to this major event.”

But Machnic felt the response “especially” by “Trudeau and Ford” was turning Canada into “a communist system.”

On Friday, Trudeau called for an end to the “illegal blockades that are taking our neighborhoods and our economy hostage.”

Other demonstrators were also critical of Trudeau. “You can’t help but notice, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau takes a knee in solidarity with other groups, radical groups, and yet he cowers when we, the people, are speaking,” the demonstrator said. “It doesn’t reflect well on our leaders,” he continued.

Many Canadian protesters felt their movement against COVID-19 mandates would continue.

“I do think it’s going to continue because there’s a lot of people that really believe strongly in what’s going on.”

  1. Just a “small fringe minority”. You should see the size of the ones in Australia and France. Don’t expect this revolution to be televised.

  2. Not to mention the other convoys in progress: 1500 cars in France, 1.5 million in Australia, 20,000 in Israel

  3. More power to these PRO-CHOICE truckers, who are fighting on our behalf to return to normalcy – AUTHORITARIANISM IS AN EVIL WE CAN DO WITHOUT IN THE WESTERN WORLD…

  4. The Trudeau junta may be able to clear the bridge of trucks and arrest a few truckers but the question still remains… who will deliver the goods that trucks and truckers aren’t trucking? Trudeau is weak and the people can see it.

Is Trudeau about to have his Ceaușescu moment?

The trial of Nicolae and Elena Ceaușescu was a short trial, held on 25 December 1989 by an Exceptional Military Tribunal. It resulted in guilty verdicts and death sentences for former Romanian President and Romanian Communist Party General Secretary, Nicolae Ceaușescu, and his wife, Elena Ceaușescu. The main charge was genocide

  5. Calling on all citizens of our nation to stand together as one. Only together as one people can we make our government completely transparent, honest, accountable and free from corruption. Starting from the very top and right down to the lowest member in the position of authority, all must be held at higher standards. These are the people who represent our nation. We are only as credible as the leaders that represent us.

Any person having less than the quality of standards that I have stated here, needs to be removed immediately and never be put back in any position of authority. The same goes for anyone who represents our nation. We need to secure our country and make it better for us and our future generations. Do what is right.

It should be “What can I do for Antigua not what can Antigua do for me”.

People will ask who should they vote for. They should vote for the person who is going to work for us and with the utmost diligence, transparency, honesty and integrity. It can only work from the very top down. We are all aware of the current players and what they have done. Those are the first ones that need to be removed from office. They are the ones who previously held office and did the same shenanigans. Those are the people who you should not vote for. We have the power to end their political career. We have the power to change the laws as we see fit. We have the power to make the government work for us. Or we fire them.

The government is our employee. When an employee fails to do what is expected of them, we as employers give them fair warning what needs to be adjusted to do their job better. If they don’t, we fire them. We have the power to do the same with every member of the government from the top down. Tired of water woes? Tired of blackouts? Tired of empty promises? Tired of our crumbling infrastructure? Those are our employees we need to address and when there are no results, we fire them.

However we all need to come together as one people, one nation. Accepting bribes in all forms for votes also needs to stop.

Let’s go citizens. Let’s be proud of our country.

    Let’s Make Antigua Great.

      I couldn’t have said it any better…. EXCELLENT 👍

Let’s Make Antigua Great – Let’s go citizens. Let’s be proud of our country.

OUR REPRESENTATIVES WORK FOR US, WE DON’T WORK FOR THEM

      • PARTY POLITICS is just a clever scheme to DIVIDE and CONQUER.
If they can keep the people fighting amongst themselves, then the people won’t notice what the politicians are doing (enriching themselves).
