ETIAS stands for European Travel Information and Authorisation System – a system that will be similar to that of the ESTA most people need to travel to the US.
Fear not – it comes into play at the end of 2022, so any vacations booked before this will not need to fill out an application form. When the system goes live, anyone with a passport that isn’t a resident of an EU country will have to complete a short online form. Once reviewed and accepted, the ETIAS will grant people 90 days of travel within Europe on a short-stay visa.
What Residents Of Antigua and Barbuda Now Need To Do
The first thing people from Antigua and Barbuda need to do is ensure their passport is up to date. An Antigua and Barbuda passport is valid for five years, which is shorter than other countries allow theirs to be valid and can catch some vacationers out. It’s also mandatory that the passport is six months within date – another requirement that can catch travelers off guard.
Check that your passport is in date by looking at the expiry date and take at least six months away from that. Citizens of Antigua and Barbuda are entitled to a passport, thanks to the Immigration and Passport Act, 2014. The passport office distributes new documents that require proof of citizenship before being awarded.
